Pumpkin Seed Protein Porridge!

Good afternoon lovelies! I just want to start by saying an enormous thank you to everyone who commented to enter my give-away! I’m a bit overwhelmed by just how many people joined in! But then it is a truly fabulous bundle of goodies so I can understand the excitement!
The winner has been chosen and contacted, so I’ll be able to get those goodies sent out ASAP! Hope you let me know how you like them!
And for everyone who didn’t win – Sorry! But, all is not lost. You can purchase all of the goodies for yourself over on Indigo Herbs’s website!

Since there was so much interest (and the winner might be sat thinking “Now what do I do with this lot?”) I thought I’d try experimenting a little with some of the ingredients! And so I present to you, pumpkin seed protein porridge!

Raw and easy Fruit and nut bars!

I’ve been planning on posting up this recipe for a while now, but with one thing or another, travelling to London, and now planning for the Fruit Fest I’m going to tomorrow, it’s been a bit hectic here and it’s gotten forgotten!

Smile and be happy! – 100% seed crunchies

I have been very, very lucky lately.

I’ve had 3 instructables that I posted chosen to be featured on their front page, and 1 even became a “popular” post. (Still very happy!)

I was chosen to taste test some raw chocolates for The Raw Chocolate company, and I won one of their t-shirts (and a bar of chocolate!)

I won a fantastic cookbook from InSpiral, (which I love) – I even followed a recipe from it, which I never do! (I’ll review it soon!)

I won a shopping bag from Real Foods, and I think they’re even letting me review one of their products (excited!)

I won (again!) when I entered my fig pizza into a vegetarian meal contest, and won a free veg box from the fantastic Abel & Cole!

I’ve had so much amazing feedback from the recipes I’ve entered into the Raw Food contest on Instrucatables. (Still waiting on the results, but very exciting!)

I’m also VERY excited about volunteering at the raw Fruit fest in just a few weeks!! Really can not wait!

And it was my lovely partners birthday last week, and I got to spend the bank holiday weekend with him, his daughter and my family <3.

I’m a very lucky person!

This is the birthday card I drew for him – He’s my Sunshine, I’m his Rainbow, and his little one is our Silver lining. I know, I know.. Awww……!

Raw Carrot Cake – a flavour explosion.

Raw dessert? I’ll bet a lot of people will be thinking “Really? That sounds so boring!”. Most will probably think that a raw dessert consists of an apple. Or a banana. Or maybe, if you’re lucky, a bowl of ripe berries.
Oh, you do not know how wrong you are…

Happy Halloween! – Garlic Bones

I absolutely adore Halloween. The funky macabre decorations adorning the house (I think I have just as many, if not more, Halloween decorations as I do Christmas ones!), dreaming up weird and wonderful costume. Whether they be strange, cute, funny or scary, I love the process of coming up with a costumes (even if it is a last-minute rumage through the wardrobe to find something that will do!)

But above all, I love being able to go a little wild in the kitchen.. making foods that at any other time of the year would be deemed repulsive, creepy, and downright vile… At Halloween, anything goes!

Garlic Swirl Bread

Bread making is a magical process. You start off with these powdery, every-day ingredients; flour, sugar, salt, water. All run of the (flour) mill (sorry) and very mundane. Then you add in that last mystical ingredient, Yeast. And then everything just comes to life. That limp, lifeless doughy lump you began with suddenly errupts into a fantastic yeasty monster, ready to be tamed, kneaded and baked into crusty perfection.

Warm and comforting – New house and new soup

It’s amazing how fast time flies. It only feels like we moved into the new house yesterday, yet it’s already been five days. Five days of manic packing, moving, cleaning, more moving, and heaps of unpacking.

It’s nowhere near done. I think it will probably be several weeks before we’re completely unpacked and settled in, but I don’t mind. It’s nice to just sit back, breathe and relax, enjoying the new house, the new scenery, the new atmosphere.

I also can’t quite believe that it’s Autumn already. The leaves are changing, autumnal vegetables are showing up in the shops, Halloween decorations have begun to appear.

And it’s getting colder. So much colder.

I’m sat here typing this in a warm jumper, thinking I might need to go fetch myself some gloves..

This is definitely soup weather.

Rather Amazing Banana Bread

There’s a bit of a grey area I think as to what “Banana Bread” should be called. I’ve eaten platefuls of what’s always been known as “Banana Bread” in the past, but to me it always seems a bit too decadent, too rich, to be simply classed as bread.
After all, I can hardly imagine anyone wanting to use two slices of this to make their breakfast BLT (That’s vegan bacon, mind you!)

Forgive the dodgy photograph.. it was late, but I wanted a slice...

Purple Goddess Dressing

Sometimes, a recipe will take weeks, maybe even months, and occasionally years to perfect. You’ll start off with an idea, or a vague notion of what might work. And you play around with it, tweaking it here and there, until finally you end up with what you dreamed up all those many days ago….

That isn’t what happened here.

Sudden inspiration..
