Hello again! Happy Veganuary! I can’t quite believe that it’s been nearly 3 years since my last blog post! It’s been quite a busy time, we’ve had a house move, my step daughter now lives with us, I have a nearly two year old toddler, and a bump due to be born in exactly one month! So blogging has taken a bit of a back seat!
Did you know that May 13th is International Hummus day? Why do I always find out about this on the day!
Good afternoon lovelies! I just want to start by saying an enormous thank you to everyone who commented to enter my give-away! I’m a bit overwhelmed by just how many people joined in! But then it is a truly fabulous bundle of goodies so I can understand the excitement!
The winner has been chosen and contacted, so I’ll be able to get those goodies sent out ASAP! Hope you let me know how you like them!
And for everyone who didn’t win – Sorry! But, all is not lost. You can purchase all of the goodies for yourself over on Indigo Herbs’s website!
Since there was so much interest (and the winner might be sat thinking “Now what do I do with this lot?”) I thought I’d try experimenting a little with some of the ingredients! And so I present to you, pumpkin seed protein porridge!
***Give away closed! Winner to be announced!***
Well, it’s been quite a while since my last post! But, I’ve got something pretty amazing to make up for it… A fabulous give-away!
I was incredibly lucky enough to win a hamper of amazing goodies from the Glastonbury-based company Indigo Herbs! Due to a little mix-up, I ended up receiving my prize twice! And very generously, Indigo Herbs have agreed to let me give away the second bundle to you lovely lot! How lovely is that?
So, what does this bundle contain, I hear you asking? Well, cast your eyes on this lovely selection…
I thought it would be a nice idea to review the products here as well, so you can get a little taste of what you’d have a chance at winning!
Today was International Hummus Day!
I don’t know about you, but for me, hummus is pretty much it’s own food group.
It goes Fruits, Vegetables, Protein, Carbohydrates, Fats, and Hummus, right?
So when I found out that there was a day dedicated to Hummus, I just knew I had to get involved!
This is a follow-up post from my Jerk-tofu recipe. If you’ve tried making the jerk-tofu, then now you should have a little pot of left-over marinade sitting waiting to be used!
I can’t believe that it’s been nearly 8 months since I posted a recipe, where on earth has that time gone? A lot has happened since then! And I haven’t stopped cooking either. I’ve still been dreaming up and tinkering with recipes, eating out, and taking lots of foodie photos (Seriously. SO many food photos. Hundreds. Some have gotten to the stage of “Wow! That looks amazing! ..what the hell was that?”). So expect some photo-catch up posts at some point!
Whilst I haven’t stopped cooking, I did lack the drive to potter over here and actually write it all down. I’m feeling a bit more inspired now though, so let’s try to get back into this!
I know that I said I would be posting again soon, and I promise that I will!
You know how people always say “Don’t read the comments!” on controversial posts? I really need to listen to that advice.
On a post recently about how fish feel pain, it was truly saddening to see the sheer number of comments from people who either don’t care, or don’t understand that all life matters.
I won’t go into a huge rant here, as I feel I’ve spent far too much time on this lately. It did however inspire me to do a little doodle, so I though I would share it here.
I’ll just leave you with this.
No matter who you are, what you believe in, whether you’re an omnivore, vegetarian, vegan, or anything in between – Show some more compassion in your life. So often, you see people who don’t agree throw insults at each other. If we all showed others a little more respect, and showed a little more compassion to other living beings, the world would be a much better place.
We won’t get there overnight. But if everyone made one small effort, then at least we’d be on our way.
Much love 🙂
Helloooooo! My goodness it’s been a while hasn’t it? Don’t you find when you don’t do something for a while, it gets harder and harder to get back to it? That’s what I’ve been like! I’ve still been cooking up all manners of vegan goodies, and I’ve even photographed most of it! So I have literally hundreds of foodie photos to bombard you all with soon :D.
I’ve started doing some little vegan humour doodles! Who here has had the “You’re vegan? But, what if you were stuck on a desert island?” question? Probably nearly everyone! So here’s my little take on it!
I think it looks like a rather nice place to live!
I should be getting some more posts up again soon :).
In the meantime, let me know what you think!
Last week, I treated myself to a box of goodies from InSpiral. I wrote about some of them in my last post, so here’s the rest!
